Stephanie Santos

As a proud big sister and the oldest of eighteen cousins, Stephanie grew up surrounded by little ones, often stepping naturally into the role of protector and encourager. Those early years shaped her deep respect for childhood innocence and her belief that young people deserve language, pride, and reassurance as they navigate complex conversations about identity and self-worth.

After more than a decade as a professional photographer in New York City, Stephanie is expanding into new creative chapters, including releasing her own music and writing stories that affirm and uplift both her generation and the next.

In her debut children's book, My Beautiful Black Leotard,  Stephanie Santos draws from her earliest experiences with racism and colorism. Seeking to equip and empower children who may already have or will one day face similar moments.
